Winter World Masters Games – Innsbruck 2020
Get involved! From 10 to 19 January 2020, Innsbruck and the region of Tyrol will host the 3rd Winter World Masters Games (WWMG).
The WWMG 2020 are the World’s Greatest Winter Sports Festival for 30+ Year Olds. The IMGA as world governing body for Masters sport event is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and aimed at adult athletes from all over the world. According to the official slogan “spirit together” hobby athletes are given the chance to rub shoulders with ex-Olympians. Minimum age may vary between sports and is the only entry criterion.
More than 3.000 participants are expected in Innsbruck in January 2020 to celebrate this unique winter sports festival together. They will compete for more than 2.000 medals in twelve different sports: Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Ski Orienteering, Ski Mountaineering, Figure Skating, Speed Skating, Short Track, Ice Hockey and Curling.
Promoting the “sport for all” philosophy and the Olympic values, they will strive to perform their personal best in respect and friendship between each other.
The competitions will be implemented in close cooperation with experienced sports organisers.
