Alpine Skiing

Starting Saturday, January 11th, and going till Thursday, January 16th, Patscherkofel, Innsbruck´s Home Mountain, will become the heart of the WWMG 2020 Alpine Skiing competitions. Expect to witness intense battling for the winning place as well as enjoy breath-taking views of Innsbruck and the Nordkette Mountains.

The skiers will be competing in four various disciplines (opening race, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G) in three different categories (A, B and C). The Giant Slalom and Super G will be settled in one run, while in the Slalom each skier completes two runs. The winner is the skier with the fastest total time. The opening race will be a Sprint-GS with shorter gate distances (similar as in parallel slalom) and just one run.

Ski Jumping

Ski Jumping competitions are starting tomorrow and will take place at two venues – Kitzbühel (11-12 January), and Seefeld (from 13 to 16 January).

The competitors have come to Innsbruck from thirteen different countries all over the world, ranging in age from twenty one to eighty years old.

Athletes will choose two out of the three hill sizes (42, 75 or 109) for the individual event. For the team competition athletes will have to combine forces and form a team of four persons to compete together on hill size 75. Mixed- and multinational teams are allowed!
