The opening ceremony from the view of a volunteer

As a member of a group of 25 volunteers I was given the chance to be part of the opening ceremony and stand in the front row. We formed an alley for the athletes, to parade into the Masters Village. The ceremony was accompanied by different musical acts and started at 6pm when the athletes entered the village grouped by disciplines. The atmosphere sparkled immediately and the spectators could feel the `together`spirit. No matter what country or age, the people laughed, celebrated and danced. The city center of Innsbruck was immediately transformed into a colourful festival area.

The two presenters spread a good atmosphere and it was overall a perfect event. The speeches from representatives of politics and sports gave athletes, volunteers and visitors a very warm welcome.
