Sustainable use of Olympic and World Championships Venues

Sustainable use of Olympic and World Championships Venues

It is always an incredible feeling when sport events take place at stunning sport venues. But it is not rare that a lot of these venues are not used after huge events such as World Championships or Olympic Games. We as the Winter World Masters Games 2020 want to take a different approach and get these amazing venues back to life and enlighten the flame of passion again for all athletes all around the world.
Innsbruck, well known as sport city, already hosted numerous sport events including the Winter Olympic Games 1964 and 1976 as well as the Youth Olympic Games 2012 where the infrastructure for such events was improved. Three Olympic Villages have been built and the remaining sport facilities obtain the highest international standards. Since then more than 30 World Cups are hosted every year within these facilities!
We as the organizer of the WWMG2020 aim for a sustainable event which includes not only the reuse of already existing venues moreover, the Winter World Masters Games 2020 will form a part of sustainable long-term future for the Masters World Championships and set new standards when it comes to the facilities and infrastructure for the Master sport.
