Payment methods & ATMs
Most hotels, restaurants, shops and gas stations in Austria accept debit and credit cards. If and which credit cards are accepted is indicated by the logos displayed on the exterior facade of the respective business (usually on the entrance door). However, it is recommendable to always have some cash with you for buying small things, as there is a minimum charge amount at some places.
It is also possible to draw money with the ATMs. Please clarify with your bank if your card is working in Austria and you will be able to withdraw money at ATMs.
In Austria many restaurants include the tax in the bill, however it is customary to give a 10% tip in restaurants. If you are satisfied with the service, you may choose to round up the total sum when paying. If you were not satisfied with the service, it is not unusual to give less tip.
LOCAL PUBLIC TRANSPORT
All accredited participants have the opportunity to use the local public transport system in Tyrol free of charge. If you are interested in traveling by bus or train around Innsbruck to the competitions or to explore the area, contact an info point for further details.
The breathtaking nature and landscapes of the Tyrol offer various possibilities for sports and leisure activities. In order to ensure this for future generations, we have to protect and preserve the delicate ecosystem and precious natural landscapes.
We pay attention to a careful handling of water and remind our guests that the water from the Tyrols taps is of best drinking water quality. Inevitable waste is properly separated and disposed of.
