Ice Hockey

Ice Hockey is an extremely fast team sport. It is played on a 60m x 30m rink, with five players plus one goal keeper on each side. The WWMG are aimed at both male and female ice hockey players of all abilities. Games will be non-contact, while teams will be divided into the categories 30+ and 50+. Each team is guaranteed five games. Teams comprising players from more than one country are welcome to take part. Each age group will play games spread across six days.

  • Men 30+ and 50+

Competition period
The competitions in Ice Hockey are assigned to two phases. Women's and Men's 30+ tournament will take place between January 10 until 15, 2020. Men 50+ play their games between January 14 until 19, 2020.

Age groups
The minimum age is 30 years. Athletes must be at least 30 years of age by December 31, 2019 (age group 1989 and older). Age groups are Women 30+ and Men 30+ and 50+. For the Men 50+ age group, goal tenders are also eligible to play if they are a maximum of 5 years younger than the specified minimum age (age groups 84 and 74).

Registration
The registration for Ice Hockey will be open until November 15, 2019 or until the maximum capacity is reached.

Announcement
All important information for participation in the Ice Hockey competitions will take place in the announcement. Please notice that the English version is available from page 5. Please check the version and date on it to make sure you have the latest announcement.

The starting places for the men's categories are limited to a maximum of 16 teams per age group. A maximum of 10 teams are eligible for the women's class.
