Ski Mountaineering

presented by  dm logo rgb

Ski Mountaineering demands real all-rounder skills. Depending on the discipline, competitions can include a climb and a descent as well as sections where competitors must unclip and carry their skis.

At the Winter World Masters Games in Innsbruck, medals will be awarded in two disciplines. The Vertical Race is uphill only, while the Individual Race contains both uphill and downhill sections. In addition, the athletes have to ascend and ski down several times as well as carrying their skis in between.

  • Vertical (3,3km, 954m altitude difference)
  • Individual (total approx. 1,900m altitude difference)

Competition period
Ski Mountaineering competitions are planned for January 16 - Vertical and January 18 - Individual. The 19th of January serves as a reserve day for the Individual competition.

Age limit
The minimum age is 35 years. Athletes must be at least 35 years of age by December 31, 2019.

The registration for Ski Mountaineering will be open until December 31, 2019 or until the maximum capacity is reached.
