Olympiaworld
The Olympic Hall, the Tiroler Wasserkraft Arena, the Tivoli Stadion and the State Sport Centre, the Skateboarding Hall as well as the Olympic Ice Track, are among a number of top-level sports facilities in the Tyrolean capital to form the Olympiaworld Innsbruck complex.
Beside hosting competitions of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012, the 2010 European Handball Championships and the 2011 European Volleyball Championships, the multipurpose arena has also welcomed international superstars such as the Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Tina Turner and Pink. After Innsbruck and Vienna were selected to co-host the 2005 Ice Hockey World Championships, the Olympic Ice Stadium underwent significant renovation work during which a second, smaller ice hall, the Tyrolean Ice Arena, was integrated into the new complex. It has served as the home of the HC TWK Innsbruck ice hockey team ever since.
During the 2020 Winter World Masters Games, the Olympic Hall will be the venue for Figure Skating and Short Track. The TIWAG Arena will play host to the Ice Hockey games, while the Olympic Speed Skating Oval will be the open-air location for the Speed Skating comptitions.
