Patscherkofel
Patscherkofel is Innsbruck’s local mountain located to the south of the city. Easy to recognise from its rounded shape and the prominent radio mast on its peak, Patscherkofel is a favourite with locals and has played an important role in Innsbruck’s rich sporting tradition. It was here that the Alpine Skiing and Bobsleigh competitions were held during the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics.
In January 2020, Patscherkofel will be the scene of the Alpine Skiing competitions and the Vertical Race (Ski Mountaineering). The participants in the Winter World Masters Games in Innsbruck can look forward to breathtaking panoramic views of Innsbruck and the Nordkette Mountains on the other side of the valley as well as splendid vistas taking in the Inntal, Wipptal and Stubaital valleys.
