Seefeld
Located approximately 20km west of Innsbruck, the municipality of Seefeld, together with the nearby villages of Leutasch, Scharnitz, Mösern and Reith, offers top recreational and sports facilities during both summer and winter. A 245km network of cross-country trails, two ski jumps newly constructed in the 2010/2011 season and state-of-the-art biathlon facilities mean the Seefeld Nordic Centre is the perfect location for the Nordic events of the Winter World Masters Games.
The Olympic region of Seefeld also has a proud sporting history. The municipality of Seefeld has already hosted Olympic sports events on three separate occasions: during the Winter Olympic Games in 1964 and 1976 and during the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012. Over the past ten years, Seefeld has cemented its role as a central part of the Nordic Combined World Cup and hosted the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019.
Several disciplines will be held in Seefeld. The main focus will be on the Nordic Sports Centre, which was modernised ahead of the 2019 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The biathlon shooting range is just a few metres from the two ski-jumping hills and the finish area for all Cross-Country Skiing and Ski Orienteering competitions.
